1. day: SKOPJE
Meeting with our representative at Skopje airport and departure for Skopje. Check in hotel. Dinner and overnight.
2. day: SKOPJE
Breakfast. After breakfast proceed for a city tour of Skopje, the capital of Macedonia ( walking tour ) with local guide: Fortress Kale (the highest point of the city, first time the fortress is built in 6th century AD ), church Holy Salvation from mid XVI century, Mustapha Pasha Mosque (built in XV century by Mustapha Pasha, vizier of Sultan Bayezid II and Sultan Selim I during the Ottoman Empire. With its impressive appearance is one of the most beautiful mosques in Macedonia), Old Bazaar ( the largest bazaar in the Balkans outside Istanbul), Daut Pasha’s Hammam ( from XV century, now Art Gallery), Stone bridge – the symbol of the city, the main square and pedestrian street Makedonija, Memorial House of Mother Theresa, Old railway station…. Afternoon visit of the monastery Saint Pantelejmon on the nearby mountain Vodno. In addition to its beautiful frescoes the monastery had a marble iconostasis dating from the 12th century. The frescoes founded in Saint Pantelejmon monastery church make it one part of the most remarkable monuments in Macedonia. Return in the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
3. day: SKOPJE – NATIONAL PARK MAVROVO - STRUGA - OHRID
Breakfast. Check out and departure for Ohrid via National Park Mavrovo. En route visit of the Monastery Saint John Bigorski (built in 1020 year and restored in 1743 year). The monastery church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist. One of the most valuable treasures of the monastery is the iconostasis considered as the most beautiful and most valuable wood-carved iconostasis. Continue towards Struga. The city of Struga is also known as a city of poetry. Is located on the both banks of river Black Drim and is the second largest town on the coast of Ohrid Lake. Sightseeing of Struga (visit the place where the river Black Drim left the Ohrid Lake, Bridge of Poetry, Park of Poetry (Dedicated to the winners of the festival of poetry “Struga Poetry Evenings”), Pedestrian street, Church Saint George (Built in the 18th century). After short driving arrival in Ohrid and accommodation in hotel. Dinner and overnight.
4. day: OHRID
After the breakfast a walking city tour of Ohrid (Protected by UNESCO as World Culture Heritage). Visiting of the most interesting monuments, Lower Gate, Museum of the city of Ohrid “House of Robevci”, Cathedral church Saint Sophia (original fresco from 11th century), Antique Theater- 2nd century B.C., Church Saint Holy Mother Perivleptos, Gallery of Icons, Upper Gate, Tsar Samuel Fortress, Archeological site Plaosnik (Church St.Kliment & Pantelejmon, place of the first University on Balkan, all the place surrounded with mosaics from 4th century), Church Saint John Kaneo. Free time in the city. Dinner and overnight.
5. day: OHRID
After the breakfast half day tour to Saint Naum, located on the southern part of the Lake Ohrid, in the National Park Galichica. Enjoy in the natural beauties of the springs of the river Black Drim, the biggest springs of Ohrid Lake which together with the Monastery dated from 9th century make this area the most visited place in Macedonia. Lunch in the restaurant on the small island. Returning in Ohrid. En route visit of the Museum on Water in the Bay of Bones – an exceptional archeological complex. The Bay of Bones is an authentic reconstruction of a part of the pile-dwelling settlement dating back between 1200 and 700 BC. Late afternoon returning in Ohrid and panoramic boat ride on the lake 1 hour. Dinner and overnight.
6. day: OHRID – VEVCANI - BITOLA
Breakfast. Excursion to village Vevcani near Struga. This village offers pleasant ambience for all visitors through the walk to the beautiful springs besides the village. Departure for Bitola second largest city in the country, also known as city of the Consuls.. Visit of the archelogical site – ancient town Heraclea Lyncestis from 4th cetury BC. Walking through the longest pedestrian street in the country, Clock Tower, trade center from XV century, Museum of Kemal Ataturk… Dinner and overnight.
7. day: BITOLA – PRILEP – KAVADARCI - SKOPJE
Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Driving through the bigest plain in Macedonia – Pelagonija and visit city od Prilep. City od Prilep is known as a biggest center in Macedonia for the production in tobacco. Walking through the center of the town. Continue to city of Kavadarci and visit the biggest winnery in Macedonia – Tikves. Tour through the winnery and wine tasting. Arrival in Skopje in the afterrnoon. Accommodation in hotel. Dinner and overnight.
8. day : SKOPJE
Breakfast and check out. Free time in Skopje until departure to the Skopje airport .
